
The Government of England is keeping pace with new technologies by publishing a crime Maps of England's neighborhoods [Map]:
The Home Office hopes it will boost public confidence in the police service by giving people more information about crime. The map gives the public immediate access to figures on all crimes and specifically burglary, robbery, violence, vehicle crime and anti social behaviour.
The question raised here is: Is it appeasing or stressful to be aware of your neighborhood's crime rate? I want to say 'depends where you live', and if you live in a high-rated crime area, you certainly don't need a map to know it. However, there are some interesting facts that come with this seemingly useless technology.
