The Becoming Uninteresting Complex - Facebook versus Twitter

Is Facebook the victim of its own success? Obviously yes! It started when college students booed the service when the network opened up to the public. This negative event did not pollute the image of the hip social network (Nobody listens to students anyway, they complain all the time). It quickly became a mainstream social portal.

Today the descending curve of the hype is definitely a social downer. Premature adopters of 2.0 tech demand more. Twitter is starting to be consecrated as the next best way to connect in a meaningful way.

The 2.0 tech crowd is merciless. When the curve slightly goes down, everybody holds its breath, and opinion leaders start stressing on the dip.

This leads to pretty irrational questionings like "is Twitter replacing Facebook?", Twitter doesn't allow socialization. It simply allow instant interactions. If you have a best bud on Twitter, there's great chances that it's one of your Facebook friends too. If you value the contact you had with someone, you connect with that person on Facebook.

Facebook has become our place for connecting in a meaningful way. Twitter is just a live conversation engine. Facebook is not dying, it has just become an integrated part of our online social lives.
